How many faces can you see?

Copyright John Osmond 2008

John & Kathryn Osmond also went on the Beechworth Ghost Tour with Adam Jenkins. Interestingly John's camera worked in the cell and captured this image.
This is a reflection of a window on the wall. The window is not at ground level.

Can you see anything? I can just make out one face. How many faces can you see?

Beechworth Ghost Tour

Staff and volunteers from the Beechworth Visitor Information Centre enjoyed the Beechworth Ghost Tour with tour guide Adam Jenkins last week. Of course we picked the best night of the week, with strong wind and rain adding to the atmosphere.

Adam took us around the former Mayday Hills Lunatic Asylum in the grounds of La Trobe University. We learned about what it was like living in the institution in the 1860s and went inside some buildings that have been closed for 60 years.

For those who know me best, I am a keen photographer. I had my Nikon D80 ready to photograph a ghost on the tour. Unfortunately I that didn't happen and the best i could do was to capture the reflection of my lantern light in the window.

Interestingly there was one particular cell with an interesting past. I tried to take a photo in the cell and my camera froze, it just would not work. Adam mentioned that this wasn't the first time a camera wouldn't work in the cell.

The tour was fantastic. For further information on Beechworth Ghost Tours go to

Bollywood comes to Beechworth

The Beechworth Visitor Information Centre team and partners enjoyed the Indian themed dinner last Thursday night at Sambells Bar and Bistro, La Trobe at Beechworth. Someone suggested we should dress in sari’s (not mentioning any names - James) Thanks to Google, You Tube and James Tool (volunteer) we discovered the art of wearing an Indian Sari. It was a fun evening enjoyed by all. Next stop Bollywood….
